7 Tips You Should Know for Cheap Vacations in Cinque Terre!

If you want to have a very different taste of Italy, you have to be at Cinque Terre. It’s a very breathtaking town situated in the outskirts of the country. It’s a collection of the most magical surroundings and the prettiest beach.

Cinque Terre is Italy in its finest, purest form. But the even better news is that, a traveler can enjoy a piece of it even on a budget. Here’s the seven things that you have to know if you are looking for a cheap vacation in Cinque Terre.

1. The restaurants near the ocean can charge so much.

If you want to experience fine dining in Cinque Terre, then the ocean view restaurants are the best places to be. However, the prices on their menu could make you think twice about eating. If you’re on a budget, there are much cheaper places elsewhere. The dining places and the coffee houses that are a little bit far off the ocean charge a whole lot better.

2. Low-cost rooms are hard to book.

Like everywhere else, rooms that are in the midway of being too expensive and too cheap have to be booked months prior to your trip. Cinque Terre may be an isolated land in Italy. But it doesn’t mean other tourists from all over the world can’t get there.

3. Private and public transportations are available.

If you’re really on a budget, there are buses in the area that can take you anywhere. Otherwise, you can just walk to your destination. Private cars are usually available from the hotels as well. Ask the receptionist if they can rent you a car. But that’s going to be an extra cost for you.

4. Most hotels include breakfasts.

If you’re in a bed-and-breakfast kind of an accomodation, you’re in luck. You need not worry about that first meal of the day and out there in Cinque Terre. And by that, it means the most fabulous set of coffee and bread. Chocolate is a fine breakfast candidate too, along with croissants.

5. Tours are always available.

Being on a budget also means looking for the best deals in town. As far as Cinque Terre is concerned, you can book a 3, 5, or 7-day budget tour to suit your vacation needs. The price will depend on how long you intend to stay in this Italian town. But for budget tours, the average price is a little below $2,000 per person. But do read the fine print. More often than not, airfare is not included in the package.

6. Consider independent travel.

As much as it is comforting to visit Sienna, Portovenere, Portofino, Genoa and the other interesting spots around Cinque Terre, group tours are usually more expensive. Joining a group means having to pay a tour guide, compulsory tickets, and a good chunk of your vacation time. Try to explore the towns on your own and you might just find that equally fulfilling.

7. Plan and book everything in advance

Cinque Terre is an isolated town of Italy. You may not easily get to what you need if you decide to arrive at short notice. If you’re planning a vacation here, be sure that everything you need is all accounted for. The best way to cut costs is to make sure you don’t incur any unnecessary ones.
