Pleaces for shopping in Cinque Terre

While in Cinque Terre, there are a lot of activities and adventures one can engage in and one of the most favored activities is shopping for  traditional products in Cinque Terre.

Cantina du Sciacchetra is one of the most famous places located in Monterosso al Mare in the Cinque Terre for shopping. Here locals and travelers can find local food items such as wine, pesto and marmalade, all of which are used in the unique and freshly made cuisines in Italy.

Vernazza has been described as limited as far as shopping, but there are a few specialty stores that can be found on this strip and some offer unique souvenirs and gifts for traveling tourists. If you’re looking to buy all your souvenirs at once, this isn’t the town to travel to; however quaint stores such as Il Mercante d'Oiente offer a lot. Here you will find authentic and handmade Italian jewelry and beautifully crafted scarves. Their most pricey pieces include mother of pearl beading and the owners also offer many silver pieces at affordable prices.

Riomaggiore is among the best places to shop and visit if you are searching for locally grown and fresh produce. Fruits and veggies of all sorts are sold on local vending carts and within shops and there are also many places that offer free lessons on preparing local cuisine and dishes. The hours of the shops are varied so you will need to plan accordingly; shops open at 10:00 a.m. and close at 2:00 p.m. They then reopen at 3:00 p.m. and close for the day at 5:00 p.m. Also in Riomaggiore you can visit the Art'in Banchi (via Colombo 166), a shop which promotes the italian artisan (you can find ceramics, jewelery-art and many more).

Monterosso is also home to some of the most unique and affordable wineries and shops. The areas is divided into two separate regions: the San Cristofor Hill and an older part of the village known as the Maritime Village. Here visitors will also find numerous artisan shops and a few different hotels and restaurants that serve fresh fare. While here, it is recommended that you enjoy a lunch or dinner seaside and dig into the meals, all prepared with the area’s freshest ingredients and seafood.

Enoteca Internazionale also located in Monterosso al Mare, is one of the highlighted areas as well and is home to one of the oldest wine shops in Italy. Each month the area hosts sampling events and guests can partake in these activities and also get involved with the food sampling.
