Getting Around Cinque Terre by Train

corniglia train stationAll of these towns in Cinque Terre have their respected train stations - however not necessary that each train stops at every station, unless its a slow train. Reaching around these 5 towns in totality could take you 15 to 20 mins (La Spezia to Riomaggiore: 9 min / Riomaggiore to Manarola: 2 mins / Manarola to Corniglia: 4 mins / Corniglia to Vernazza: 5 mins / Vernazza to Monterosso: 5 mins / Monterosso to Levanto: 5mins).

These trains are termed as - 'milk-run’ trains, since they barely stop and are slow too. So beware of the train you take, ensuring that it stops where you wish to go. If you are headed to Corniglia, then one needs to either walk or board a train at the bottom of the cliff. There are no boat routes, since it rests atop a cliff. There are however mini-buses that shuttle to and from.
